Inspire Credit Union goes live with Vera
Cork’s Inspire Credit Union is the first organisation to roll out Vera, our AI knowledge platform, giving its team quick, cited answers from the credit union’s own documents.
We’re delighted to share that Inspire Credit Union went live with Vera on 27 October. Our team joined Inspire’s staff for the launch to get everyone set up and walk through how Vera works with their own material.
Inspire has served its members since 1968, previously as Bishopstown Credit Union, across Bishopstown, Wilton, Glasheen, Ballinora, Carrigrohane and the surrounding areas. It’s a real pleasure for a Cork company to launch Vera with a Cork credit union that’s so rooted in its community.
Why Inspire chose Vera
A credit union runs on a large body of policies, procedures and regulatory guidance, and staff need the right answer quickly when a member is in front of them. Finding that answer usually means searching shared folders or asking a colleague who knows where things are.
Vera lets Inspire’s team ask a question in plain English and get an answer drawn from Inspire’s own documents, with a citation showing exactly where it came from. Staff can check the source in one click rather than taking the answer on trust.
Why Vera rather than Copilot or Claude
Tools like Microsoft Copilot and Claude are excellent general-purpose assistants, and Inspire looked at that kind of option. They’re built to help with almost anything, though, drawing on general knowledge as well as your files. For a credit union, the priority is narrower: the answer has to come from Inspire’s own approved documents, and staff need to be able to trust it.
Vera is built for that one job. It answers only from the organisation’s own material, cites every source, and checks the answer against those sources before responding. Inspire’s team gets a focused tool for finding the right answer, not a general assistant they have to second-guess.
It also comes with a team close to home. Vera is built in Cork and hosted in the EU, and we set it up with Inspire and support them directly, rather than leaving them to configure a general tool on their own.
Built for organisations where a wrong answer has a cost
In a regulated business, an answer that sounds right but isn’t can do real damage. Vera is designed around that. Every answer is grounded in the organisation’s own documents and cited back to its source, and Vera checks that its answer is supported by those sources before it responds.
Security was built in from the start, not added later:
Data is hosted in the EU and encrypted
Each organisation’s data is kept separate, and people only see what they have access to
Customer data is never used to train AI models
That matters to any organisation answerable to a regulator, and it’s why credit unions were a natural place for us to start.
What’s next
Over the coming months we’ll be working closely with Inspire as their team uses Vera day to day, and we’ll share what we learn along the way.
A big thank you to everyone at Inspire Credit Union for their trust and their time.
